Islamabad: The much-anticipated Ramadan special ‘Dekh Zara Pyaar Se’ has kicked off with strong buzz, but beyond its fresh pairing and light-hearted storytelling, it’s an unexpected cameo that has set social media abuzz.

The romantic comedy, which premiered on February 19, marks the first on-screen collaboration between Yumna Zaidi and Hamza Sohail. With two episodes aired so far, viewers have praised the show’s festive tone and comic timing, positioning it as an early Ramadan favourite.

Yumna essays the role of Rumaila, while Hamza plays Ali, forming a new on-screen duo that fans have been eager to see. However, it was a subtle nod to another beloved star that truly caught audiences off guard.

In a brief scene from the first episode, Rumaila and her friends are shown watching ‘Jinn Ki Shadi Unki Shadi’ on television, a project associated with Wahaj Ali. Although Wahaj does not appear physically in the episode, his voice is clearly heard, creating a nostalgic moment for fans who have long admired his previous on-screen chemistry with Yumna.

The cameo clip quickly went viral, with viewers describing it as a “pleasant surprise” and a subtle treat for longtime fans. Many took to social media to express excitement over hearing Wahaj’s voice in a scene featuring Yumna, calling it a rare and unexpected crossover moment.

Beyond the cameo buzz, ‘Dekh Zara Pyaar Se’ carries strong creative credentials. The drama is penned by Saima Akram Chaudhry, celebrated for hits like Suno Chanda and ‘Chupke Chupke’, and directed by Ali Hassan, known for Fairy Tale.

The supporting cast features veteran performers including Bushra Ansari and Arshad Mehmood, alongside digital creator-turned-actress Rumaisa Khan.

As Ramazan programming heats up, ‘Dekh Zara Pyaar Se’ appears to have found an early winning formula, blending fresh chemistry with a touch of nostalgia that fans didn’t see coming.
