Islamabad: “The transition from Bakhtu to Bakhtawar was really challenging. It was extremely difficult to appear on screen without makeup and wearing baggy clothing while maintaining the tone of a male character, but I took it on as a challenge to illustrate the injustice that women face everywhere and to show the struggle and resolve of a woman when faced with difficult situations,” stated Zaidi.
In a recent interview with Maliha Rehman for Gloss Etc, Yumna Zaidi discussed the challenging aspects of performing the extremely demanding and distinctive role of Bakhtu & Bakhtawar.
As she reflected on her own experience of the shoot, the ‘Dar Si Jaati Hai Sila’ actress continued by expressing her gratitude to the strong women who deal with the clichéd atmosphere on a regular basis.
The actress said, “When I was filming scenes at the neighbourhood markets for the characters of Bakhtu and Bakhtawar, I became aware of how difficult it may be for women or girls to go out on their own and go to work or shop because doing so puts them in the face of a prejudicedenvironment.”
Yumna Zaidi, who has won three Lux Style Awards for Best Actress, is a shining example of the television industry’s talent and individuality. The actor recently received a tonne of applause for her adaptable role in the drama serial Bakhtawar, which is now airing.
The ongoing highly acclaimed drama series tells the tale of a brave girl and how she overcomes the dual-face society’s cruel behaviour towards women. She has high hopes for the future, and is eager about giving her mother and herself a better life. The most interesting part of this show is how Bakhtawar, a girl, turns into a man to achieve this goal.
