Seoul: A South Korean student hung a banana peel on the wall after eating a banana worth about Rs 3.5 million which is part of the world’s most expensive ‘banana art’.

A South Korean college student ate a banana from the tape that was a piece of art worth 120,000 US dollars (Rs 3.5 million) during a visit to the museum and later hung the peels there.

According to the sources, ‘Banana Art’ banana was put on display in a museum in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. It was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan in 2018, and two copies of it were sold in 2019 in the US city of Miami for a record price.

The video of the student eating the banana also went viral, and he later told the media that he had not had breakfast in the morning, so when he felt hungry, he took out the banana and ate it.

The above art is not a painting but a model of sticking a banana on the wall with the help of tape, with the banana being replaced every two or three days.

The Italian artist has been presenting the said art as a masterpiece for exhibition and sale in different cities around the world.

Interestingly, the same ‘Banana Art’ banana by artist Maurizio Catlin was also eaten by an American comedian in 2019 during an exhibition at the museum.

Under the said art, a white tape is pasted on the wall of the museum, on which the banana is hung, and every three days during the exhibition, the banana is replaced with a normal, fresh banana.

The Italian artist Maurizio Catlin has set the price of his above-mentioned masterpiece art sample at 120,000 US dollars; and so far, he has earned more than Rs 5 million.

People who buy the said artwork are given tape and a banana and told to stick the tape on the wall of their house and change the banana every third day.
