Young Activists Champion Takht Pari Forest Revival

Islamabad: In a heartwarming display of environmental stewardship, a group of passionate youngsters has called on citizens to unite in support of the Punjab government’s monsoon tree planting campaign, which aims to restore the Takht Pari Forest to its former lush glory.
Speaking to PTV News, the group emphasized that this collective effort, driven by the belief that small actions can lead to significant change, seeks to rally people from all walks of life to make a tangible impact on the fragile ecosystem.
As the monsoon season begins, these dedicated young change-makers are eager to get involved and invite the nation to join them on this green journey.
Dr Amina, one of the young advocates, highlighted the forest’s ecological significance and the environmental challenges it has faced over the years, necessitating concerted restoration efforts. The monsoon tree planting campaign is designed not only to replenish the forest’s green cover but also to encourage community engagement in environmental conservation.
Muhammad Rehan, participating in the drive, explained the collaboration between the Punjab government and DHA as a strategic partnership aimed at maximizing the campaign’s impact by leveraging resources and expertise.
This collaboration ensures the implementation of effective tree planting initiatives and the adoption of best practices in forestry management.
Student Dr Mahnoor added, “Our goal is to build greater awareness about environmental issues among the younger generation, especially as we face increasing challenges related to climate change.”
The youngsters also stressed that through social media platforms, the younger generations can play a pivotal role in protecting the environment. They noted that planting trees is one way individuals can contribute to these efforts.
