WWE Backlash in Lyon: A Thrilling Stop on WWE’s Global Tour

Islamabad: WWE Backlash in France took place in Lyon, marking another stop on WWE’s bustling international tour.
The latest edition of SmackDown boasted the highest live gate earnings in WWE history, surpassing the record set just a month prior in Philadelphia.
The event featured a headline match between Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles for the WWE Championship, as well as Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill challenging The Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Additionally, Damian Priest defended his WWE World Title against Jey Uso.
This week’s WWE Raw drew in 1.683 million viewers.
The French crowd erupted with excitement as French-Canadian Kevin Owens entered the arena to a thunderous ovation. Randy Orton followed suit, with fans singing along to every word of his entrance theme.
The match kicked off with an intense brawl, during which Owens delivered Stunners to unsuspecting security guards. Nick Aldis, sensing the crowd’s energy, declared the match a Street Fight, eliciting a massive reaction.
In a comedic moment, Owens surprised everyone with a Frog Splash on Tama Tonga, only for Orton to playfully tease a Frog Splash of his own before stepping down from the barricade.
Tama Tonga found himself on the receiving end of a punishing beatdown early on, but he turned the tables by introducing a kendo stick and trash can lids into the fray.
The match reached its climax when Orton executed an RKO on Tama Tonga. Just as victory seemed within reach for Orton and Owens, Tanga Loa made a surprise entrance, delivering a devastating Thumb Strike to Owens and securing the win for The Bloodline.
