WSSCM Employees Protest Non-Payment Of Salaries
Peshawar: The Water and Sanitation Services Company Mardan (WSSCM) employees staged a protest on Tuesday against the delay in the release of their salaries.
WSSCM President Akhtar Munir addressed the protesters and stated, “The employees have not received their salaries for the past two months which has put them and their families in a dire financial situation.”
Akhtar Munir stated that the children of the employees are being forced to go hungry due to the non-payment of salaries. The demonstrators threatened to extend their strike if their rightful salaries weren’t released immediately.
Earlier this year, in April, WSSCA employees in Abbottabad protested against the non-payment of salaries for Eidul Fitr and announced that they would stop working, particularly during the Eid holidays. APP
