Woman Arrested for Slitting Stepson’s Throat in Attock

Attock: A woman allegedly slit the throat of her eight-year-old stepson in Chakki village, within the jurisdiction of Pindigheb police station, police said on Thursday.

According to initial reports, the suspect attacked the child with a knife and left him critically injured on a street corner before fleeing the scene. Locals rushed the victim, identified as Muawiya Ali, to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, where he remains under treatment in critical condition.

Police said the boy had been living with his grandmother. The suspect, Misbah Bibi, married Abu Bakar about a year ago and allegedly carried out the assault while the grandmother was away in another village.

Law enforcement authorities launched a search operation immediately after the incident and arrested the woman within a few hours.
