Winter Vacations Announced for All Punjab Schools

Lahore: The Punjab government has announced winter vacations for all public and private schools across the province, according to a notification issued by the provincial Education Department on Thursday.

The notification stated that winter break will be observed from December 22, 2025, to January 10, 2026, with schools reopening on January 10 to resume regular academic activities.

Earlier, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat had announced that matriculation and intermediate examinations, originally scheduled for early March, will now be conducted after Eid-ul-Fitr across the province. The exact schedule for intermediate exams is still under consideration.

In October, the Punjab School Education Department had revised school timings in response to worsening smog in the province.

Under the revised schedule, classes run from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm Monday to Thursday, while schools close at 12:30 pm on Fridays.
