Rawalpindi: Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan stated that the team’s victory is more important than individual records after the first day of the third Test at Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.
Speaking to the media, Khan expressed his gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for providing favorable conditions for spinners.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the PCB for ensuring that there is something for the spinners,” he said.
Khan noted the differences in pitch conditions between Rawalpindi and Multan, adding that he benefits from the guidance of experienced spinner Noman Ali. “Noman Ali has vast experience and guides me,” he remarked.
Reflecting on Pakistan’s performance, Khan mentioned, “We made a mindset that we would lose one wicket by the end of day one, but we lost three. However, a big partnership will ensure a good total in the first innings.”
He also highlighted England batter Jamie Smith’s significant contribution, stating, “England would not have reached 267 if we had managed to remove Smith earlier.”
Khan commended the turnout of spectators in Rawalpindi, noting, “The crowd came in Multan as well as in Rawalpindi.”
Continuing his impressive form, Khan took six crucial wickets, helping to restrict the visitors to under 300 runs in their first innings.
