Will ‘Agent Anila’ Revive the Essence of Classic Pakistani Cinema?

Islamabad: The trailer for the action thriller film ‘Agent Anila,’ starring Pakistan’s First Lady, has been released.
However, many fans, after watching the trailer, have dismissed it as a fake movie, commenting that it resembles old Pakistani films despite modern advancements in film technology.
The star-studded cast includes actress Meera, Rida Isfahani, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Mustafa Qureshi, Shafqat Cheema, Maskan Nazir, Manzoor Murad, Pir Muazzam, and Mehboob Sultan.
In addition to renowned actors like Ghulam Mohiuddin and Mustafa Qureshi, the film features actors from Sindhi and Pashto dramas.
The trailer gives a glimpse of the plot, suggesting that one faction in the film intends to spread death and fear in Pakistan through a virus, while another faction is determined to thwart their plans.
Meera appears to play a negative role, while Rida Isfahani takes on the lead role of ‘Agent Anila.’ Shafqat Cheema, Mustafa Qureshi, and Ghulam Mohiuddin also have significant roles.
The trailer also indicates that ‘Agent Anila’ was shot in various international locations.
The film’s story is written and directed by Qasim Gul Panhour, who also serves as the producer. Haji Khalid Siddiqui is a co-producer. The film is scheduled for release on Eid-ul-Adha next month.
