Wildlife Department Seizes Rare Crocodile in Kasur

Islamabad: A team from the Punjab Wildlife Department has seized a rare seven-foot-long crocodile from illegal possession in Kasur, with the market value estimated to be in the millions of rupees, as reported by a private news channel on Wednesday.

The crocodile was recovered from an individual found to be holding it illegally and has since been relocated to the Gatwala Wildlife Breeding Centre.

It is noteworthy that crocodile skin and meat are utilized as dietary items in some countries around the world.

Under the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Wildlife Department has initiated a crackdown on the smuggling of rare animals in the province. 

Senior Punjab Minister Merriyum Aurangzeb praised the wildlife department’s commendable efforts, emphasizing that a comprehensive strategy is being implemented for the safety and protection of wildlife, which play a crucial role in human life.

The Punjab Wildlife Department has registered a case against the individual involved in the illegal possession.
