Islamabad: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the list of match officials for the highly anticipated ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 19 to March 9.
The tournament, featuring the world’s top eight teams, will be played across four venues—Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, along with Dubai in the UAE. A total of 15 matches will be held, with Pakistan hosting 10 games and Dubai hosting four, including all of India’s group-stage fixtures and the first semi-final.
A panel of 12 elite umpires has been selected to officiate the competition, six of whom also officiated in the 2017 edition. Among them is Richard Kettleborough, who oversaw the final of the previous Champions Trophy and brings vast experience with 108 Men’s ODIs to his name.
Joining him are seasoned officials Chris Gaffaney, Kumar Dharmasena, Richard Illingworth, Paul Reiffel, and Rod Tucker, all of whom were part of the 2017 tournament. Dharmasena, a veteran with 132 ODIs, holds the record for the most matches officiated by a Sri Lankan umpire in the One-Day format.
The panel also includes Michael Gough, Adrian Holdstock, Ahsan Raza, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Alex Wharf, and Joel Wilson, who officiated in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad.
The match referee panel will be led by experienced officials David Boon, Ranjan Madugalle, and Andrew Pycroft, who are part of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. Boon officiated the final of the 2017 Champions Trophy, while Madugalle and Pycroft have extensive experience in major ICC tournaments.
