Who Are Commentators at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026?

Islamabad: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is doubling down on its global broadcast ambitions for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, unveiling a commentary panel that blends some of the game’s most trusted voices with recently retired stars and current internationals.

In a statement released on Friday, the ICC said the star-studded line-up will anchor its ICC.TV coverage and serve as the official world feed for broadcast partners, a move aimed at delivering uniform, high-quality commentary to fans across all markets.

The tournament, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, begins on February 7 and will feature 55 matches, with the final scheduled for March 8.

Veteran broadcasters Ravi Shastri, Nasser Hussain, Ian Smith and Ian Bishop headline the panel, providing what the ICC described as a “world-class viewing experience” throughout the competition. Their presence is complemented by a strong contingent of former T20 World Cup winners, including Aaron Finch, Dinesh Karthik, Kumar Sangakkara, Samuel Badree, Robin Uthappa and Carlos Brathwaite.

Notably, the commentary team also includes active international cricketers, underlining the ICC’s effort to bring contemporary insight into its coverage. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma, who recently led his side to the ICC World Test Championship title, will feature alongside Sri Lanka veteran Angelo Mathews, a member of the country’s 2014 T20 World Cup-winning squad.

The ICC said ICC.TV will offer more than live match commentary, with extensive pre-match shows, interval analysis, post-match wrap-ups and daily highlights planned through to the knockout stages. The approach reflects a growing emphasis on digital-first coverage as audiences increasingly consume major events across multiple platforms.

The full commentary roster spans all major cricketing regions and includes Eoin Morgan, Wasim Akram, Sunil Gavaskar, Matthew Hayden, Michael Atherton, Waqar Younis, Dale Steyn, Shaun Pollock, Harsha Bhogle, Natalie Germanos, Danny Morrison and Ian Ward, among others.

According to the ICC, the diverse line-up is designed to mirror the global nature of the T20 World Cup while ensuring consistency in tone, analysis and production as the tournament reaches fans worldwide.
