When Will 5G Services Be Available in Pakistan?

Islamabad: The government has announced that 5G internet services will be available in Pakistan by mid-2025, as revealed during the ongoing National Assembly session on Wednesday.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information Technology and Telecommunication Sabheen Ghoury, responding to a question during the Question Hour, confirmed that the government is introducing four new infrastructure cables alongside 5G services to ensure fast and reliable internet connectivity. She also stated that optical fiber expansion is underway to further enhance internet quality across the country.
Initiatives to Boost Freelancing and Startups
Ghoury also revealed that under the PSDP project “Prime Minister’s Initiatives – Support for Startups, Specialized IT Trainings, and Venture Capital,” the government plans to establish 250 E-Rozgaar Centers over the next three years. These centers aim to train 25,000 freelancers and entrepreneurs, generating approximately $20 million in revenue.
She added that 50 E-Rozgaar Centers will become operational during the current fiscal year as part of the initiative to promote digital entrepreneurship.
