Islamabad: WhatsApp is experimenting with a new rounded chat bubble design aimed at giving conversations a more modern and visually appealing look.

The redesigned interface was first teased during an earlier beta launch, and is now appearing for select users who have installed the latest Android beta version 2.26.10.2 via the Google Play Store.

The update replaces the older rectangular message bubbles with fully rounded corners, creating a cleaner and smoother appearance. The new bubbles are slightly taller and offer a lighter, more modern feel, making chat conversations visually more streamlined.

Previously, the more structured rectangular bubbles often appeared “blocked” and less fluid.

Multimedia Messages Receive a Visual Overhaul

A key change in this update affects multimedia content such as photos and videos. Instead of being placed inside traditional message bubbles, images and videos now appear as fully rounded bubbles themselves, aligning with the new visual style and providing a more cohesive chat experience.

Availability

Currently, the redesigned chat bubbles are limited to select beta testers who have updated to the latest beta. WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is expected to roll out the feature to a wider audience in the near future.

Once fully released, the update could represent a significant visual refresh for WhatsApp, making chats cleaner, more modern, and more engaging for millions of users worldwide.
