Islamabad: Several food outlets in Islamabad are offering mouth-watering iftar menus and buffets ranging from Rs 6,000 to Rs 2,000 per head during the holy month of Ramazan.
While the majority of families prefer breaking their fast at home, many fast food chains attempt to attract customers during Ramazan by offering special iftar buffets with discounts.
This trend has sparked competition among popular food outlets in the capital city, with many claiming to have slashed their prices, particularly during the holy month.
Fast food outlets with year-round delivery service extend their delivery hours during Ramadan from 6 p.m. to dawn, without any additional charges.
Isma Khan, a resident of F-6, expressed that while her family enjoys having iftar outside once a week, they always prefer fresh and home-cooked food to avoid health complications.
She emphasized her preference for cooking herself, stating that fast food is only considered if the kids insist.
Another resident, Syed Farhan from F-10, shared that he and his kids avoid fast food during Ramazan due to its high-fat content, which they perceive as detrimental to their health.
He mentioned that he only considers iftar outside in the case of a family gathering.
Overall, while there is a noticeable trend of iftar buffets and special offerings from food outlets during Ramazan, many families prioritize home-cooked meals for health reasons, with fast food being seen as an occasional indulgence rather than a staple during this holy month.
