What Messages Were Shared at Vasakhi Mela?

Lahore: The festivities marking the 325th Khalsa Janumdin and Vasakhi Mela concluded at Gurudwara Panja Sahib in Hasanabdal.

According to a press release issued, Sikh pilgrims from various corners of the globe, including India, were in attendance, alongside ambassadors from Australia, Nepal, and 10 other countries. They expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government and the Evacuee Property Trust Board for their efforts in beautifying the Gurudwara Panja Sahib and providing accommodations for the pilgrims.

In his address at the main ceremony, Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif extended a warm welcome to the guests.

He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring complete religious freedom for minorities, asserting that their places of worship and property are safeguarded.

Senator Sardar Guldeep Singh, along with several other political and religious minority leaders, participated in the event.

Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Pradhan of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, highlighted Pakistan’s unique initiatives, including the forthcoming implementation of the Sikh Marriage Act.

He also debunked false propaganda against Pakistan’s treatment of Sikh heritage.

The foreign ambassadors commended the exceptional arrangements made for the occasion. Prior to the event, Secretary Board Farid Iqbal oversaw all arrangements for Sikh pilgrims, ensuring compliance with directives from the chairman.
