Mumbai: Bollywood star and filmmaker Aamir Khan has credited the soaring success of the romantic drama Saiyaara to its strong connection with younger audiences, particularly Generation Z.
Speaking at a promotional event in Mumbai, Khan praised the film’s impact, calling it a “fresh and emotionally engaging cinematic experience” that resonates deeply with today’s youth.
“Every generation carries its own taste and preferences. I feel today’s youth connects more with content that reflects their mood and emotions,” Khan said. “Saiyaara is a testament to that shift. It has become a major hit with the younger audience, and as a filmmaker, I aspire to create stories that resonate across generations.”
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara stars debutants Ahaan Pandey and Anit Pada. The film has been widely applauded for its heartfelt narrative, soulful music, and the natural chemistry between its lead pair. Its sincerity and cinematic finesse have earned praise from both critics and audiences alike.
Khan’s production house also released a formal statement celebrating the film’s success:
“Congratulations to the entire team on the brilliant success of Saiyaara. Ahaan Pandey and Anit Pada have made an impressive debut with maturity and charm, while Mohit Suri has, as always, brought intensity and craftsmanship to the screen. Yash Raj Films deserve credit for producing such a beautiful film.”
Industry analysts say Saiyaara’s runaway success signals a broader shift in Indian cinema, as younger audiences increasingly gravitate toward stories offering emotional depth and contemporary themes. The film has officially become the second biggest Bollywood blockbuster of 2025, underscoring this generational transition.
Meanwhile, Khan also announced that his highly anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par will have a global digital release via YouTube on August 1, 2025. The film will be available in India for Rs 100, with internationally adjusted pricing for viewers abroad.
