Islamabad: Hadiqa Kiani has announced the release of her latest track Challa, which officially arrives today, December 11, on the Sufiscore platform and all major digital music services.

In a heartfelt Instagram reel, the renowned singer spoke about the deep personal and artistic meaning behind the song.

“I have wonderful news to share with you all,” she said. “Challa is releasing on December 11 on Sufiscore and all major digital platforms. It’s a beautiful folk-classical piece performed by many legendary artists, and I’ve long dreamed of singing it. I poured my heart into every note.”

Reflecting on its symbolism, she added: “For me, Challa is a soul — a spirit that enters this world, journeys through it, and ultimately transcends to its final destination.”

A timeless Punjabi folk classic, Challa has been interpreted by greats like Shiv Kumar Batalvi and Reshma. Hadiqa’s rendition pays tribute to that legacy with music arranged by Irfan Kiani and production by Sufiscore.

Hadiqa Kiani, celebrated for her versatility across genres and languages, continues to solidify her place as one of Pakistan’s most enduring musical icons. Her career spans chart-topping pop hits, soul-stirring ballads and folk-inspired compositions.

Beyond music, she is widely respected for her humanitarian work. She received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2006 and was recently featured on BBC’s “100 Women for 2024” list for her cultural and philanthropic impact. As a former UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, she led major relief initiatives, including the Vaseela-e-Raah project supporting flood-affected families.

With Challa, Hadiqa Kiani returns to her folk roots, offering fans a moving new interpretation of a Punjabi classic.
