What Did Iran Really Hit in ‘True Promise 3’?
News Desk
Tehran/Tel Aviv: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale retaliatory operation named ‘True Promise 3’ early Saturday morning, striking dozens of Israeli military and strategic targets in response to what Tehran described as a “criminal assault” by Israel on Iranian soil.
The operation, known in Persian as Sadiq Wada 3, was described by Iranian officials as a “forceful and precise” response to Israel’s earlier airstrikes — codenamed Operation Rising Sun — which reportedly killed senior Iranian military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians, including children.
According to the IRGC’s statement published by the Tasnim News Agency, the retaliatory strikes targeted Israeli airbases and military centers across the country. The statement emphasized that this was a direct response to Israel’s aggression and warned of further consequences if hostilities continue.
Iran’s state news agency IRNA reported that the retaliation was a “crushing” operation, signalling a new phase in the confrontation between the two adversaries. The IRGC noted that additional details of the attack would be shared with the Iranian public in forthcoming statements.

In Israel, live footage from Tel Aviv showed plumes of smoke rising from several areas as explosions rocked the city. Emergency services, quoted by Israeli daily Haaretz, confirmed that at least 15 people were wounded, including one in moderate condition, following the wave of missile and drone attacks.
This latest escalation raises fears of a broader regional conflict, as both nations exchange increasingly lethal blows. International observers have urged restraint, warning that the situation could spiral into a full-scale war unless diplomatic efforts resume.
As tensions soar, all eyes are now on potential responses from Israel and its allies, amid a rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East.
Iran Threatens to Target Countries Supporting Israel

In comments reported by CNN on Saturday, a senior Iranian official said Tehran considers the current situation a direct violation of international law. “Any country that seeks to defend Israel will see its regional bases and assets become legitimate targets,” the official warned.
This follows Iran’s missile barrage against Israel in retaliation for deadly Israeli strikes on Iranian military, nuclear, and residential sites—attacks Tehran says killed senior commanders and scientists.
The official added that Iran plans to intensify its response in the coming days, accusing Israel of “aggression” and repeated violations of international norms.
In a statement issued Friday, the IRGC confirmed it launched hundreds of missiles under “Operation True Promise III,” targeting Israeli military facilities. The operation, reportedly conducted under the directive of Iran’s Supreme Leader, was described as fulfilling the Iranian public’s demand for justice.
While independent verification remains limited, the IRGC claims its missiles breached Israel’s multi-tiered air defense system and hit designated targets.
With tensions soaring, Iran’s threat to expand the battlefield has heightened anxiety among Gulf states and Western countries with military installations across the Middle East.
