Islamabad: American tech giant Google is rolling out significant updates to Google Maps and Google Earth, aiming to enhance user experience and provide deeper insights into the world’s evolving landscapes.
According to Android Central, these updates will feature expanded Street View, sharper satellite imagery powered by artificial intelligence (AI), and a new historical imagery feature for Google Earth.
One of the key updates to Google Maps includes an expansion of Street View, introducing “new imagery” that will be accessible in nearly 80 countries.
This enhancement will enable better virtual exploration of countries like Bosnia, Namibia, Liechtenstein, and Paraguay.
Additionally, Google is working on improving Street View imagery in nations such as Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, and the Philippines, providing more detailed virtual experiences.
The Street View expansion was officially launched on September 25, with users urged to look out for the new imagery as it becomes available.
In parallel, Google is also rolling out updates to Google Earth.
A new “historical imagery” feature will soon be accessible via the web version of Google Earth, allowing users to explore around 80 years of satellite and aerial images.
This feature will provide insights into how different parts of the world, such as London, Berlin, and Paris, have evolved over time, with some imagery dating back to the 1930s.
In addition, both Google Maps and Google Earth will benefit from AI-assisted technology, offering sharper and more detailed images to enhance the overall viewing experience.
These updates mark Google’s ongoing effort to help users understand and navigate the ever-changing world with greater accuracy and detail.
