Weekend Alert: Rain, Snowfall Expected Across Pakistan

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted rain, along with isolated hailstorms and snowfall in mountainous regions for Islamabad and various parts of Pakistan over the weekend.
As per the synoptic situation, most parts of Pakistan are currently experiencing continental air. A westerly wave is expected to enter the western regions on Saturday night and may extend its influence over most upper parts of the country by Sunday.
Under these conditions, cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall is anticipated in isolated areas of Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral, and their surroundings on Friday night.
On Saturday and Sunday, partly cloudy to cloudy weather with rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and adjacent hilly areas. Isolated hailstorms are also a possibility during this period.
The minimum temperatures in Islamabad are projected to range between 04-06 degrees Celsius on both Saturday and Sunday.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperatures are expected to range between 08-10 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
In the past 24 hours, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and most parts of Pakistan experienced cold and dry weather, while freezing conditions were observed in the northern regions of the country.
Leh recorded the lowest temperature in the country, dropping to 09 degrees Celsius below freezing.
In Islamabad, the minimum temperature was 04 degrees Celsius, with a morning relative humidity of 86 percent.
In Rawalpindi, the minimum temperature was 08 degrees Celsius, with a morning relative humidity of 58 percent.
