Week Long Anti-polio Drive Kicks Off in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: A week-long campaign against polio kicked off in Rawalpindi district, aiming to vaccinate over 786,877 children under the age of five on Monday.
Dr Ejaz Ahmed, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District Health Authority, informed the press that the initiative would involve 3,675 mobile teams, 870 area coordinators, 245 medical officers, and 330 fixed centers.
Additionally, drops will be administered at 163 transit points, with teams stationed at toll plazas to ensure no child is missed.
Dr Ejaz emphasized the importance of data accuracy and instructed polio teams to ensure no child is overlooked at transit sites.
He highlighted the urgency of the campaign due to recent positive polio environmental samples in the district.
