Web Series ‘Barzakh’ Makes It To World Premiere

Islamabad: Starring Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed, the lead pair of the popular drama ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’, the web series ‘Barzakh’ recently had its international premiere, which left everyone in amazement. ‘Barzakh’ is said to be the only series selected for the festival from South Asia.
Regarded as one of the best actresses in Pakistani showbiz industry, Sanam Saeed recently offered a sneak peek of her web series’ world premiere, which is a huge accomplishment considering her transition from television to the silver screen to now shining at the international level.
Saeed shared her amazing appearance on social media, feeling honoured to represent South Asian talent at such a significant global event being held in France.
“World Premiere of the first two episodes of our series ‘Barzakh’. It was such a privilege to be representing South Asia here at this incredible Series Mania festival,” captioned the actor.
Director Asim Abbas said that ‘Barzakh’ is a family drama set in a world of supernatural beings and other worldly events.The inspiration for the novel originated from a personal loss and the fears that accompanied it. This realisation convinced me that love is, in fact, an eternal force, and it prodded me to write a story about it, Asim added.
Fawad, one of the most well-known actors on the subcontinent, will play a single dad who is struggling with shame and grief in the series. The leading female character, played by Sanam, is mysterious and empathetic. It combines magical realism with supernatural fantasy in the context of a family reunion and explores themes of love, sorrow, and forgiveness.
Produced by Shailja Kejriwal and Waqas Hassan, this web series will be competing for the audience and student jury awards along with the best series, best director, best actress, and best actor during the festival.
