Rawalpindi: A persistent water shortage has been distressing the residents of Traffic Colony Dhoke Ratta and its surrounding areas for several days.
Despite this, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has failed to implement any substitute arrangements to ensure a consistent water supply.
Frustrated by this negligence, residents such as Zameer Hussain Zammer, Zahoor, Rab Nawaz, Ghulam Abbas, Riaz, Fayyaz, Said Rasool, Ali Nawaz, Shakeel Ahmed, Sheikh Tasleem, Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Aslam, Muhammad Akram, Wasiq Razzak, and Sajjad Sadiq have voiced their grievances and issued a warning to protest against WASA’s inaction.
Zameer Hussain from Dhoke Ratta, acting as a spokesperson for the residents, expressed their ordeal, stating, “We are compelled to travel to distant locations to procure water for our daily needs. The cost of acquiring water from alternate sources, such as water tankers, is exorbitant, with rates as high as Rs 1000 per delivery, which is beyond our means.”
The residents are adamant in their demand for immediate intervention by the relevant authorities. They stress the critical importance of resolving the water shortage promptly, given its direct impact on their daily lives, particularly during this significant period.
