Washuk Accident: 20 Killed as Over-Speeding Coach Overturns

Quetta: At least 20 passengers, including women and children, were killed and many others were seriously injured when an over-speeding passenger coach traveling from Turbat to Quetta met with an accident in Washuk on Wednesday morning.

According to Rescue 1122, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle near Washuk, resulting in the tragic accident. Twenty people lost their lives on the spot, as reported by private news channels.

Rescue 1122 and other emergency response teams initiated a rescue operation and shifted the injured to the hospital for urgent medical treatment. 

Rescue sources indicated that the death toll might rise further, as many of the injured are in critical condition. An emergency was declared at the hospital, with an urgent appeal for blood donations to help the injured.

PM Shehbaz Mourns Tragic Accident

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound sorrow on Wednesday over the tragic traffic accident in Balochistan’s Washuk area that resulted in loss of lives.

The Prime Minister prayed to Allah Almighty for the departed souls to rest in peace and extended his sympathies to the grieving families.

He also wished for the swift recovery of the injured and directed the authorities to provide them with the best possible medical treatment.

“We stand with the bereaved families in this difficult time and extend our heartfelt sympathies to them,” he stated.
