Islamabad: Indian chef Hina Kausar Raad, who made ‘pink biryani’ inspired by the Hollywood movie ‘Barbie’, is facing severe criticism from social media users.

A video of pink biryani is going viral on social platform Instagram, where everything from rice to spices, raita and everything else has been changed to pink.

The movie prompted a social media trend where actors, influencers, and YouTubers wore pink, creating a widespread fashion movement.Indian chef Hina Kausar Raad, who made 'pink biryani' inspired by the Hollywood movie 'Barbie', is facing severe criticism from social media users

Inspired by this trend, Indian chef/baker Hina Kausar decided to innovate and introduced the concept of ‘Pink Biryani.’

In a viral video, she showcases the biryani with pink spices and rice, playfully remarking, “Barbie biryani looks good, doesn’t it?” She further adds, while pouring pink raita, “If it’s Barbie biryani, even the raita should be Barbie, shouldn’t it?”

However, the video faced strong criticism from numerous social media users who expressed sadness and anger, considering it an insult to the traditional dish.

Some pleaded for the removal of the video, while others expressed their dismay and even suggested humorous alternatives like “Barbie nihari” and “Barbie kulche.”

One user stated, “Biryani, we are ashamed,” reflecting the sentiment that the unconventional twist to the classic dish was not well-received by the audience.
