Islamabad: Veteran Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi is currently in the spotlight due to his upcoming drama serials Raaja Rani and Behroopia. The teasers for Raaja Rani have been released by Hum TV, and the drama is directed by Amin Iqbal. It is a joint production of BJ Productions and Momina Duraid, with the story penned by Sana Zafar.
However, Raaja Rani has sparked controversy among viewers, particularly due to Faysal Quraishi’s on-screen pairing with Hina Afridi, which has faced significant public backlash. Audiences are also criticizing his clean-shaven, youthful, and funky appearance in the drama, stating that the look doesn’t align with his age or established image.
Many fans have expressed discomfort with seeing a middle-aged actor in a youthful romantic lead, with some comparing the on-screen duo to a father-daughter pairing.
Criticism has also extended to Faysal’s Bollywood-style dance performance featured in the teaser, which some viewers found out of place. Comments from fans include remarks like, “This looks more like a comedy series,” and “Didn’t he get anything more sensible to perform?”
Others suggested that he should opt for more age-appropriate roles, such as his previous portrayal in Chinnar Khan. One user humorously compared the teaser to a budget version of the Bollywood song Gerua, saying, “When you order a Bollywood song from Daraz.”
