Very Cold Weather to Prevail in KP

Peshawar: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Peshawar on Monday predicted very cold and dry weather in most districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

It said that dense foggy conditions are likely to occur over Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Karak, Bannu, Laki Marwat, Swabi, DI Khan, and Tank districts, as well as over Motorway (M1) and Highways in the morning and night hours.

During the last 24 hours, very cold weather prevailed over most districts of the province, while dense foggy conditions prevailed in some plain areas. Rainfall recorded in the province was nil.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in Celsius at different stations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were as follows:

  • Peshawar: 18°C (max) / 03°C (min)
  • Chitral: 17°C (max) / -03°C (min)
  • Timergara: 20°C (max) / 01°C (min)
  • Dir: 19°C (max) / -03°C (min)
  • Mirkhani: 19°C (max) / -03°C (min)
  • Kalam: 15°C (max) / -07°C (min)
  • Drosh: 16°C (max) / 01°C (min)
  • Saidu Sharif: 18°C (max) / -01°C (min)
  • Pattan: 21°C (max) / 05°C (min)
  • Malam Jabba: 11°C (max) / -01°C (min)
  • Takht Bhai: 16°C (max) / 01°C (min)
  • Kakul: 17°C (max) / 00°C (min)
  • Balakot: 19°C (max) / 00°C (min)
  • Parachinar: 12°C (max) / -02°C (min)
  • Bannu: 14°C (max) / 04°C (min)
  • Cherat: 15°C (max) / 05°C (min)
  • DI Khan City: 11°C (max) / 04°C (min)

The lowest temperatures recorded in the province were -07°C in Kalam, -03°C in Dir and Chitral.
