Very Cold Weather Envelops KP

Peshawar: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Peshawar on Wednesday predicted that very cold and dry weather is likely to envelop most districts of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

It said that foggy conditions are likely to occur over Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Karak, Bannu, Laki Marwat, Swabi, DI Khan, and Tank districts, as well as over motorways (M1) and highways in the morning and night hours.

During the last 24 hours, very cold and dry weather prevailed over most districts of the province, while moderately foggy conditions prevailed over some plain areas. Rainfall recorded in the province was nil.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in Celsius at different stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were as follows:

Peshawar: 18°C (Max) / 2°C (Min)

Chitral: 17°C (Max) / -2°C (Min)

Timergara: 20°C (Max) / 0°C (Min)

Dir: 19°C (Max) / -3°C (Min)

Mirkhani: 18°C (Max) / 0°C (Min)

Kalam: 15°C (Max) / -6°C (Min)

Drosh: 17°C (Max) / 2°C (Min)

Saidu Sharif: 17°C (Max) / 0°C (Min)

Pattan: 21°C (Max) / 4°C (Min)

Malam Jabba: 12°C (Max) / 0°C (Min)

Takht Bhai: 18°C (Max) / 1°C (Min)

Kakul: 19°C (Max) / 1°C (Min)

Balakot: 11°C (Max) / -3°C (Min)

Parachinar: 14°C (Max) / -3°C (Min)

Bannu: 15°C (Max) / 6°C (Min)

Cherat: 10°C (Max) / 4°C (Min)

The lowest temperatures recorded in the province were -06 in Kalam and -04 C in the Tirah valley of Khyber district.
