US Slaps New Sanctions on Iran, Hong Kong & UAE Entities

Islamabad: The United States has imposed a fresh round of sanctions on Iran, further tightening pressure over alleged financial support linked to Tehran, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

In a statement, the US Treasury Department said the measures target several individuals and companies accused of facilitating financial transactions on Iran’s behalf.

The sanctions also reach beyond Iran, impacting entities based in Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Officials noted that the move is part of Washington’s broader effort to block Tehran’s access to international financial systems and limit its alleged role in destabilising regional affairs.

Those sanctioned will now face asset freezes and restrictions on doing business within US jurisdictions.
