US Imposes Travel Ban for Employees Amid Tensions with Iran
News Desk
Islamabad: The US has imposed travel restrictions on its employees in Israel due to fears of attack by Iran.
According to the Reuters news agency, the US embassy has issued instructions to its staff not to travel outside of the Jerusalem, Tel Aviv or Beer Sheva areas.
Russia and Germany also advised the parties to exercise restraint in case of possible expansion of the scope of the war.
On the other hand, Foreign Minister Antony Blanken made a telephone contact with his Turkish, Chinese and Saudi counterparts.
Antony Blanken made it clear that the US is concerned about tensions in the region, tensions in the Middle East are not in anyone’s interest.
It should be noted that after Israel attacked the Iranian consulate in Syria 11 days ago, Iran warned of retaliatory action, in which 13 people including the leader of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards were martyred.
It should be remembered that on April 11, US President Joe Biden said that Iran is planning to attack Israel and that the US is committed to the security of its ally Israel.
When asked about the security alert, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that Iran is openly threatening Israel.
Matthew Miller said during a press briefing, “We are regularly reviewing the situation on the ground, I will not discuss the specific reviews that have caused us to limit the travel of our employees and their families.”
“But obviously we are keeping a close eye on the threat environment in the Middle East and in Israel in particular.”
