Typhoon Bualoi Leaves 19 Dead, 88 Injured in Vietnam

Hanoi: The death toll from Typhoon Bualoi and subsequent floods in Vietnam has risen to 19, with 88 others injured, Vietnam News Agency reported Tuesday.
Thirteen people remain missing, while eight others are still out of contact, according to the report.
More than 105,000 houses have been unroofed or damaged, with central Ha Tinh province suffering the heaviest impact, accounting for over 78,800 damaged homes.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has instructed local authorities and agencies to take urgent measures to support affected residents and mitigate the typhoon’s aftermath. He also ordered the repair of damaged educational and medical facilities before Oct. 5.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has warned that flash floods and landslides are likely to persist for the next two to three days.
