Two More Wet Spells Expected This Week With Cool Ramazan Forecast

Lahore: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a cool Ramadan and two more rainy spells in the country including Punjab from Wednesday to Friday, and the temperature will range from 14 to 23°Cduring this period.
The first wet spell is anticipated to begin on Tuesday and last through Friday. Shortly after that, another system is anticipated to bring rain to much of the country from Saturday to Tuesday (April 1 to 4). A westerly wave is predicted to enter western parts of the country starting on March 28, to grasp upper and central parts on March 29, and likely to persist in country’s upper parts through March 31.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind and thunderstorm with isolated heavy falls and hailstorm is predicted on Wednesday and Thursday in DG Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar khan.
Also, rain-wind-thunderstorm along with snowfall over the high mountains with a few moderate to isolated heavy falls with hailstorm is likely to occur from Tuesday night to Friday intermittently in Sargodha, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Kasur, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib.
Another westerly wave is expected to enter western and upper parts of the country from April 1 and is likely to persist over KP, the upper Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, and GB until April 4.
The PDMA has advised people to take precautionary measures. Infrastructure and standing crops, particularly wheat, may be harmed in the country by strong winds and hailstorms. Farmers should irrigate their crops while taking the PMD forecast into consideration, said PDMA spokesman.
He stated that heavy rains might cause flash floods in certain areas, while urban flooding may disrupt life in Lahore from March 29 to 31. Also, during the expected period, landslides could happen in hilly regions of KP, GB, Kashmir, Murree, and Galliyat.
Tourists are advised to exercise greater caution during the predicted spell because daytime temperatures are likely to drop dramatically, spokesman further added.
Dry, partly cloudy for Sindh
The PMD forecasted dry and partly cloudy weather for Sindh over the ensuing 24 hours. Nonetheless, the majority of the Sindh province is anticipated to experience dry weather; while Sukkur, Larkana, and their surrounding areas are more likely to experience cloudy weather.
Cloudy weather with isolated rain for KP
The Regional Meteorological Center Peshawar (RMC)on Monday predicted mainly cloudy weather in most districts of KP province. Meanwhile, scattered rain-thunderstorms with gusty winds and few heavy falls (isolated hailstorm) is expected to occur over Chitral, Lower & Upper Dir, Malakand, Buner, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, and Kurram districts.
Isolated rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds and few heavy falls (isolated hailstorm) is likely to occur in Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera, Peshawar, Charsadda, Orakzai, Hangu, Karak, Kohat, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, North & South Waziristan districts.
During the last 24 hours, dry weather prevailed over most districts of the province. However, isolated rain-thunderstorms occurred in Kurram and Khyber districts. Rain recorded (in mm): Parachinar 10, Tirah Khyber 02.
