Two Held in Separate Harassment and Assault Cases

Rawalpindi/Attock: Police in Rawalpindi and Attock have arrested two suspects in separate incidents of harassment and attempted sexual assault against women, officials said on Tuesday.

In Rawalpindi, Chaklala Police apprehended a man for allegedly harassing and hurling death threats at a woman on a public road. According to a police spokesperson, the suspect intercepted the victim in the Chaklala area, verbally abused her, and threatened to kill her.

The woman immediately reported the incident, prompting the police to register a case and launch an investigation. Using human intelligence, the police traced and arrested the suspect within hours.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Division, Talha Wali, confirmed the arrest and said the accused would be presented in court with solid evidence.

“Such acts of harassment and abuse against women are absolutely unacceptable,” SP Wali said. “We are committed to ensuring justice and sending a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated.”

In a separate incident in Attock, Hazro Police arrested a man for allegedly attempting to sexually assault his daughter-in-law at gunpoint. The suspect, identified as Saifur Khan, reportedly tried to abuse the woman early in the morning but fled when family members intervened.

Police later apprehended the accused and recovered a 30-bore pistol from his possession. A case has been registered against him, and further investigation is underway, officials added.
