Two Held for ‘Killing’ Transgender in Pindi

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi police have arrested two people for their alleged involvement in the murder of a transgender person. The victim, a transgender person, has been identified as Aamir.

The victim was stabbed to death by unknown persons some three days ago, and the Race Course police were in search of the murderers, said a police spokesperson on Saturday. The suspected persons have been identified as Ghulam Murtaza, alias Anmol, along with his accomplice Junaid.

Aamir’s murder case was registered with the Race Course police station.

The police team arrested the suspects with the help of modern technology and human intelligence.

SP Potohar appreciated the performance of the Race Course police in handling the murder case and said all legal requirements would be met to convict the murderers.

However, the motive behind the murder could not be ascertained so far, and the investigation was underway until the filing of this report.
