Twin Cities Police Arrest Over 650 Suspects

Islamabad/Rawalpindi: Islamabad and Rawalpindi police have intensified efforts to curb criminal activities, leading to the arrest of over 650 individuals involved in various offenses over the past 10 months.

In Islamabad, the Karachi Company police carried out an extensive crackdown, arresting 630 accused and recovering cash and valuables worth over Rs 41 million.

As part of the ongoing “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign, 74 drug dealers were apprehended, with seizures including 4 kg of hashish, 2.5 kg of heroin, and 500 grams of ice.

Additionally, police arrested 54 individuals for illegal possession of arms, recovering 43 pistols, a Kalashnikov, a rifle, 212 rounds of ammunition, and 8 daggers. A total of 168 absconders were also apprehended during the operations.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad emphasized that the police are leveraging all resources to eradicate drug peddlers and criminal networks from the federal capital. He urged citizens to report suspicious activities to the emergency helpline “Pukar-15.”

Meanwhile, Rawalpindi police conducted search operations in various areas, resulting in the arrest of 31 individuals for violating the Tenancy Act. A police contingent, including the Elite Force, Special Branch, and women police officers, verified tenancy records during the operations.

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani stated that these operations are part of ongoing efforts to monitor criminal activities and ensure the safety of citizens. Separate cases have been registered against the violators, and investigations are underway.

Both police departments have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order, urging citizens to cooperate and report any unlawful activities.
