Trump Warns of Bombing if Iran Refuses Peace Deal

Washington: Former US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could face bombing if it continues its nuclear development program.
“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing,” Trump told NBC News in an interview late Saturday. He also hinted at imposing “secondary tariffs” on Iran.
His remarks marked a sharper stance compared to his earlier warning that if Tehran refused to negotiate a new nuclear agreement, “bad, bad things are going to happen to Iran.”
It remains unclear whether Trump was referring to unilateral US action or a coordinated strike with Israel. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar recently stated that “a reliable military option should be on the table” to prevent Iran from weaponizing its nuclear program.
Analysts suggest Iran could be weeks away from producing a deliverable nuclear weapon, although Tehran denies any such intent. Any military action against Iran carries the risk of escalating into a broader conflict.
Trump, who withdrew the US from the 2015 nuclear agreement in 2018, has reiterated his openness to negotiating a new deal to reduce military tensions. In early March, he disclosed that he had sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, proposing talks.
Meanwhile, Tehran has remained skeptical of US intentions, refusing direct negotiations. On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed to state media that Iran had sent a formal response to Trump’s proposal through Oman, a known intermediary.
