Trump: ‘US Had Nothing to Do with Iran Strike’

Washington/Tehran: Former US President Donald Trump on Sunday denied any American involvement in the latest military strikes on Iran, calling for an immediate peace deal between Iran and Israel to end what he termed a “bloody conflict.”
In a statement posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, “The US had nothing to do with the attack on Iran tonight.” His comments came amid surging tensions in the Middle East, following deadly missile exchanges between Iran and Israel that have so far left at least 15 dead and hundreds injured across Israeli cities.
The Republican presidential frontrunner also issued a stark warning to Tehran, cautioning against any aggression toward the United States. “If Iran attacks us in any way, shape, or form, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” he said.
Despite the intensifying conflict, Trump expressed optimism about a diplomatic resolution, suggesting a deal between Israel and Iran could be reached swiftly. “We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel and end this bloody conflict!!!” he asserted.
Trump’s remarks followed a dramatic escalation in hostilities, as Iran launched a barrage of missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets under “Operation True Promise III.” The offensive was reportedly in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes that killed several senior Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists.
According to Iranian state media, over 100 supersonic ballistic missiles targeted strategic infrastructure, including oil refineries in Haifa, resulting in extensive damage and major power outages across northern Israel.
Israel confirmed the attacks had overwhelmed parts of its air defense systems. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) urged citizens to seek shelter as air raid sirens blared in Haifa, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem. Dozens of injuries were reported in addition to the 15 confirmed fatalities.
In a sign of further escalation, Israeli officials hinted at the possibility of striking high-value Iranian leadership targets, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, if the conflict deepens.
As fears of a broader regional war grow, diplomatic channels have begun to stir. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly held a rare phone call with Iran’s newly elected President Masoud Peshkian.
According to sources, the Crown Prince urged restraint and warned that Israel may be attempting to provoke Iran into a full-scale war that could drag the US into military action.
Efforts to contain the crisis continue, but the situation remains volatile, with regional and global actors closely monitoring the unfolding developments.
