Green Bay, United States: In a dramatic turn on the campaign trail, former President Donald Trump seized on remarks by President Joe Biden that appeared to label his supporters as “garbage,” staging a public display with a “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” garbage truck at a Wisconsin airport on Wednesday.
Biden’s Remarks Stir Controversy: The controversy erupted after Biden’s comments were interpreted as a dig at Trump supporters, prompting Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to deflect the narrative as she campaigned in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
While Harris aimed to focus on her final-week rally message, Biden’s words forced her to address the fallout and reject the idea of calling any Americans “garbage.”
Trump’s Response: Trump, never one to miss a theatrical moment, climbed into the driver’s seat of the MAGA-branded garbage truck, mocking Biden’s gaffe.
“How do you like my garbage truck? This truck is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden,” Trump told reporters, playing to his supporters in Green Bay. The stunt also alluded to a prior controversy where a speaker at a Trump rally called Puerto Rico “a floating island of garbage.”
Candidates’ Battleground Blitz: With Harris and Trump both in North Carolina on Wednesday, the battleground state saw a flurry of rallies as they targeted key voters in an election expected to hinge on several pivotal states.
Trump’s stop in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, came just hours after Harris’s rally in Raleigh before both moved on to Wisconsin.
Early Voting Surge: Over 57 million Americans have already voted through early or mail-in ballots, marking significant turnout and suggesting high engagement as Election Day approaches.
