Transgender person shot dead, another injured

A transgender person was shot dead while another injured injury by unknown assailants near Museum at Charsadda Chowk on Monday.

According to the local police, armed motorcyclists opened fire at the victims and fled leaving them in the pool of blood.

The injured transgender person named as Salman alias Wara told the Saddar police that he along with his friends, including Sadiq alias Coconut and others, were coming from Mangah area of Charsadda after attending a wedding party when unknown assailants riding a motorbike started firing at them.

As a result, his friend Sadiq alias Coconut, a resident of Rahimabad Swat, was killed on the spot while he sustained bullet injuries.

He said the attackers managed to flee the scene after committing the crime.

It is worth mentioning that it was the third incident of violence against transgender in one week in Mardan district.
