Tragic Building Collapse Claims Seven of Family in Multan

Islamabad: At least nine persons, including seven members of a family, were tragically killed when a three-story building collapsed near Haram Gate Mahalla Jawadian area of Multan. Additionally, two others were pulled out from the wreckage with injuries.
Media reports indicate that rescue teams retrieved the bodies of nine individuals buried under the debris after a grueling 5-hour rescue operation.
Among the deceased are the head of the household, Faheem Abbas, his 40-year-old wife Sanobar, their 15-year-old son Danish, as well as their children Waseem (14), Komal (13), Bakhtawar (12), and Amir Ali (12).
Rescue officials reported that the collapsed three-story building also affected neighboring houses, resulting in a total of 19 people being trapped under the rubble.
After a painstaking 3-hour rescue operation, nine bodies were recovered, while two injured individuals were successfully rescued.
Deputy Commissioner Multan, Rizwan Qadir, has confirmed the incident and assured that the injured have been promptly shifted to Nishtar Hospital for treatment.
DC Qadir stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the building collapse, and a technical team has been formed to inspect nearby structures for safety.
The rescue operation was supervised by District Emergency Operation Dr Kalam, with local police present at the scene since the incident was reported on the 15th.
