Traffic Diversions Announced for Karachi Ali’s Day Procession

Karachi: The city is set for the main mourning procession on the occasion of Hazrat Ali’s (RA) martyrdom today, 21st Ramadan, with authorities announcing special traffic arrangements to manage the expected crowds.
The procession will commence from Nishtar Park at 1 pm and conclude at Imambargah Hussainiya Iranian in Kharadar, following its traditional route. Large numbers of mourners are expected to participate, while police and related agencies have been deployed to ensure security and smooth traffic flow.
According to the traffic police, MA Jinnah Road will remain closed to general traffic from Guru Mandir to Tower, while Corridor Three from Saddar Dawakhana to Regal Chowk will also be closed.

Alternative routes have been designated to maintain traffic flow:
- Vehicles from District Central will be diverted via Lasbela to Nishtar Road and Garden.
- Vehicles from Liaquatabad will be rerouted through Guru Mandir to Lasbela and Garden.
Passengers traveling from Hassan Square to People’s Chowrangi have been advised to use New MA Jinnah Road, Jail Flyover, Teen Hatti, and Nishtar Road.
Traffic will not be allowed beyond the Society Light Signal on Shahrah-e-Quaideen, except for vehicles with special passes participating in the procession, which will be permitted entry from that point. Vehicles of Niaz and Sibeel will enter from MA Jinnah Road Tower.
Traffic police will be stationed at various diversion points and alternative routes to guide motorists. Citizens have been advised to avoid traveling near the procession route and follow the alternative routes to ensure smooth movement.
