Islamabad: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a special traffic plan for Wednesday to accommodate the movement of foreign teams and officials.

Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly, as traffic arrangements will be in effect from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, impacting several key routes.

According to an ITP official, major roads, including Srinagar Highway, Club Road, Murree Road, Faizabad, Faisal Avenue, 9th Avenue, and Express Highway, are expected to experience congestion and slow traffic.

To minimize delays, motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes, including underpasses and service roads linked to Srinagar Highway. Travelers are also advised to allow an additional 20 minutes for their journeys to avoid inconvenience.

For smoother travel:

Commuters on Express Highway should use Khana Pul and Park Road.

Travelers from B-17 and B-15 heading to Blue Area or F-6 should opt for Margalla Road.

Islam Chowk and IJP Road will remain open for traffic.

Motorists heading to Blue Area are advised to take 9th Avenue and the H-8 Underpass.

Those traveling to the Red Zone should use Margalla Road, Express Chowk, Ayub Chowk, or Nadra Chowk.

For travel from the Red Zone to Faizabad, the Convention Centre and Club Road route is recommended.

The ITP will deploy personnel at various locations to assist the public and ensure smooth traffic flow. Commuters are encouraged to stay updated through ITP’s official social media channels or contact the traffic helpline at 1915 for real-time guidance and congestion updates.
