Islamabad: The newly established National Assembly exhibits a notable prevalence of landlords, comprising 112 out of the 265 recently elected members.
According to research conducted by the Geo-Election Cell, 83 of the successful candidates generated their income from business endeavors, while 20 exclusively identified themselves as politicians.
Inside the National Assembly, there is a diverse array of professions represented, including 16 lawyers, seven doctors, four engineers, four scholars, three individuals affiliated with religious institutions, and three educators.
Additionally, 13 newly elected members bring varied professional backgrounds.
In terms of education, the majority of members hold at least a bachelor’s degree, with 112 having achieved this level.
Master’s degree holders follow closely behind at 63, with 42 members possessing LLB degrees and three holding LLM degrees.
Furthermore, there are 10 members with MBBS qualifications, three with engineering degrees, four with PhDs, and two with MPhil degrees.
Intermediate and matric-level education is represented by 12 and 9 newly elected members, respectively.
