TikTok Removes Over 25M Videos in Pakistan for Violations

Islamabad: TikTok has deleted more than 25.4 million videos in Pakistan during the second quarter of 2025 for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the platform’s latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

The report revealed that 99.7% of the removed videos were taken down proactively, with 96.2% deleted within 24 hours of posting. The move underscores TikTok’s continued efforts to maintain a safe and positive digital environment for its users.

Covering the period from April to June 2025, the report outlines the company’s proactive approach in identifying and removing content breaching its standards to ensure a secure and inclusive experience across its global community.

Globally, TikTok took down 189.5 million videos—about 0.7% of all uploaded content—during the same quarter. Of these, 163.9 million were detected and removed using automated technologies, while 7.4 million videos were reinstated after further review.

The report added that TikTok maintained a 99.1% proactive removal rate, with 94.4% of flagged content eliminated within 24 hours.

To preserve platform integrity, the social media giant also deleted 76.9 million fake accounts and 25.9 million accounts suspected to belong to users under the age of 13.

According to TikTok, 30.6% of globally removed videos contained sensitive or mature themes, 14% violated safety and civility standards, 6.1% breached privacy and security guidelines, 45% were flagged as misinformation, and 23.8% were identified as AI-generated or edited media.

TikTok stated that its regular enforcement reports reflect the platform’s commitment to transparency and accountability, offering insights into content moderation trends and actions taken to ensure community safety.
