TikTok Removes 78 Million Videos for Violating Community Guidelines

Islamabad: TikTok has removed 78,827,465 videos globally in the second quarter of 2024 for breaching its community guidelines, according to the platform’s latest report.
Of these, 144,430,133 videos were removed through automated systems, demonstrating TikTok’s growing use of detection technology to eliminate harmful content in real time.
In Pakistan alone, over 30,709,744 videos were taken down, reflecting the platform’s strengthened content moderation efforts to safeguard its local community.
TikTok’s Q2 2024 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report revealed that 99.5 percent of the videos were removed proactively before being reported by users, with 97 percent taken down within 24 hours of posting.
The report underscores TikTok’s commitment to maintaining a safer environment for Pakistani users, as the platform continues to enhance its content moderation technologies. With a proactive detection rate of 98.2 percent, TikTok has become more efficient in preventing users from encountering harmful content.
Additionally, the report highlights a 50 percent reduction in the number of restored videos, further reinforcing the accuracy of TikTok’s moderation systems. The platform remains dedicated to transparency and user safety, investing in cutting-edge technologies to ensure a secure space for its global community.
