TikTok May Soon Allow Half-Hour Videos

News Desk

Islamabad: After Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, TikTok is reportedly planning to introduce a new feature for content creators, allowing them to upload videos with a duration of half an hour.

According to a technology website, the platform initially permitted select content creators to upload videos lasting 30 minutes.

Previously, TikTok allowed 15-minute videos in 2023, followed by a shift to 10-minute uploads before enabling 5-minute videos.

The latest reports suggest that TikTok is currently testing the capability to share videos with a duration of 30 minutes. If the trial proves successful, TikTok is expected to officially roll out the feature, allowing users to upload longer videos, by the middle of this year.

TikTok, known for its short video-sharing format, has seen increased competition from platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, which support longer-form content.

Last year, TikTok responded to this competition by introducing a feature that allows users to upload longer videos.

Initially, videos on TikTok were limited to one minute, but this duration was later extended to one and a half minutes. For several years, the platform only permitted 90-second videos before adapting to the evolving content landscape.
