Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has intensified its anti-encroachment drive across key areas of the city, including Saddar, as part of a large-scale operation to remove illegal structures and restore public pathways.

According to an RCB spokesperson, the enforcement cell has so far dismantled 28 encroachments, impounded 24 truckloads of goods, and issued 26 fines to violators. The operation is being conducted in three shifts—morning, afternoon, and evening—to ensure maximum coverage and efficiency.

Major areas targeted during the drive include Saddar, Ademjee Road, Haider Road, Canning Road, Gowalmandi, Kashmir Bazaar, Saadi Road, Kamran Market, Molvi Muhammad Hussain Road, and Railway Road.

In addition to removing illegal stalls and structures, the RCB has also confiscated motorcycles parked unlawfully on footpaths and roadsides, which were obstructing pedestrian movement and contributing to traffic congestion.

The drive is being supervised by Additional CEO RCB Arshad Khan, who is personally monitoring the progress of the operation on a daily basis.

“The campaign is focused on eliminating illegal occupations, easing traffic flow, and reclaiming public spaces for citizens,” the spokesperson said, adding that the crackdown will continue in the coming days.
