Three Killed, Several Injured in Separate Incidents Across Pakistan

Islamabad: Dera Ismail Khan/Rawalpindi: A series of tragic incidents has claimed several lives and left many injured across different parts of Pakistan, underscoring public safety concerns.
In a shocking ambush in Dera Ismail Khan, a head constable was martyred, and two other police personnel sustained injuries when militants attacked a police mobile van in Paharpur Tehsil on Friday night.
According to a police spokesman, the assailants opened indiscriminate fire near Mardan Bridge in the Pir-Ashaab area, resulting in the martyrdom of Head Constable Mir Ghulam. The injured policemen were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital.
The funeral prayer for the martyred officer was held with full honors at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines. High-ranking police officials, including Regional Police Officer Jehanzeb Nazir Khan and District Police Officer Nasir Mehmood, attended the ceremony, laying floral wreaths and pledging swift action to apprehend the perpetrators.
Six Killed, 1,713 Injured in Pindi
Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, six lives were lost, and 1,713 individuals were affected in 1,727 road traffic accidents reported during November. The Emergency Rescue Service (ERS) highlighted that 741 people sustained severe injuries, while 966 suffered minor wounds. The majority of victims were men aged 11 to 40 years, with over-speeding, careless driving, wrong turns, and tire bursts identified as leading causes of these incidents.
ERS Media Coordinator Usman Gujjar emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic rules to prevent such tragedies. “We maintained our average response time and provided timely assistance to all victims,” he stated, urging motorists to exercise caution and prioritize road safety.
These incidents serve as grim reminders of the urgent need for enhanced safety measures and public vigilance to prevent further loss of life.
FIA Crackdown Against Hawala-Hundi Network
Meanwhile, in Lahore, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intensified its crackdown on illegal financial activities, arresting Wali Muhammad for his involvement in the hawala-hundi network. The FIA’s Corporate Crime Circle raided the Mochi Gate area, recovering Rs 19.475 million in cash, along with receipts and other evidence. The operation is ongoing to apprehend other accomplices, including Tahir, Altaf, and Johar Ali.
These incidents underscore the pressing need for improved public safety measures, stricter law enforcement, and enhanced awareness to mitigate such tragedies and curb illegal practices across the country.
